Pathways to Independence
The course takes place over a year and consist of four residential weekends, Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, at The Felbury Centre, Holmbury St Mary near Dorking, Surrey. This programme is designed for disabled people in the age group 18 to 30 years old. Integrated within the programme are accredited National Open College Units thereby all participants have the opportunity to obtain accredited OCU qualifications.
We design the course to meet the specific requirements of disabled people to include:
- Empowerment training
- Advocacy
- Life Skills Open College Course
- Employment
- Housing
- Relationships
- Using Statutory Services
- Developing a support network
- Knowing and Understanding your entitlements
The course is funded by The Big Lottery Fund until August 2007 therefore no charge is made to the participants.
